Dynamoto Stands

How do I know what stands I need for my bike?

Simply select your bike from our lists and we will build the stands to suit your model.

The Single-sided Rear Stand suits bikes with a single-sided swingarm.

The Double-sided Rear Stand suits bikes with a conventional (twin-spar) swingarm that is fitted with a
pickup bobbin on each side.

The Front Sled suits any bike with a front tyre not less than 90mm wide, but must be used only in conjunction with a Rear Stand.

Does my bike need any additional fittings or hardware to work with the stands?

The Front Sled and the Single-sided Rear Stands require nothing to be added to the bike.

The only additional hardware required is in the case of the Double-sided Rear stand, which requires a pickup spool (also called a pickup 'bobbin' or 'cotton reel') mounted to the swingarm on both sides. The hooks either side of the Double-sided Rear Stand lift the bike via the spools in the swingarm. Spools are a common accessory, available from your motorcycle dealer (OEM), or aftermarket. We also have available bobbins for some selected models in our webstore. There are many different spools available, so make sure you get the correct ones for your bike. Your Dealer can advise if you are unsure.

If I change my bike, do I need a different stand? What other bikes will my stand work with?

The Front Sled is universal and will work with virtually any bike that has a tyre not less than 90mm wide.

The Double-sided Rear Stand works on bikes that have a conventional (twin-spar) swingarm and a pickup spool (also called a pickup bobbin or cotton reel) mounted on both sides of the swingarm. This the most common type of motorcycle swingarm; for example, if you have stands that you bought for a Yamaha MT-09, and buy a KTM 1290 Super Adventure, you do not need to change stands. The stands for those bikes are exactly the same product.

The Single-sided Rear Stand also suits a wide range of bikes, but must have a single sided swingarm with a large central hollow in the bike’s rear wheel hub. The Single-sided Rear stand is easily adapted to work with different makes and model of bikes, by simply changing the spindle that interfaces with the hole in the hub. For example, you can easily change a BMW R1250 rear stand to a Ducati Panigale rear stand by simply swapping the spindle. Again, you do not need to change stands.

Some BMW R-series bikes have the rear wheel hub on the left hand side of the wheel and some have the rear wheel hub on the right hand side of the wheel. Which stand do I need for mine?

The earlier (air-cooled) R1200 bikes and the current R9t have the rear wheel hub on the right hand side of the wheel (looking from behind the bike, in the direction of travel). These bikes require the ‘Right hand’ version of the single-sided rear stand.

The later (liquid-cooled) versions of the R1200 bikes, as well as the newer R1250 and R1300 require the ‘left hand’ version.

The bike lists group the 'Left-handed' and 'Right-handed' models separately. As long as you select the correct model year, the stand will be correct. Please contact us if you have any doubt.

Will your stands work with my bike? Or ‘Why our stands won’t work with your bike’.

The Front Sled is universal and will work with virtually any bike that has a tyre not less than 90mm wide. But the Front Sled must be used in conjunction with a Dynamoto Rear stand.

The Single-sided Rear Stand requires the bike to have a single-sided swingarm with a large central hollow of a specific diameter that matches the spindle of the stand. We have (swappable) spindles for single-sided swingarm bikes: BMW, Ducati, MV Agusta, Honda, KTM, Triumph. The swappable spindles allow the stand to be adapted to different model bikes.

The Double-sided Rear Stand works universally on bikes that have a conventional (twin-spar) swingarm fitted with a pickup spool (also called a 'bobbin' or 'cotton reel') on each side of the swingarm.

Bike that are listed in our drop down bike selector lists are those that work with our stands, with some provisos. Questions you can ask yourself on whether the stands will work with your particular bike are

Can I fit spools to the swingarm of the bike, either in the tapped holes provided by the bike manufacturer, through the rear axle, or some other way?

Will the exhaust pipes of the bike interfere with the rear stand?

Will the bodywork of the bike interfere with the rear stand?

Will the rear mudguard of the bike interfere with the rear stand?

Does the bike have side panniers or bags that will interfere with the rear stand?

If you are unsure, please get in touch.

Your stands are more expensive than similar looking products. Why is that?

There are many reasons why our stands seem significantly more expensive than some similar-looking products on the market. The answer is in the term ‘similar-looking’. ‘Looks’ is where the similarity of our product to all other products ends.

We made the decision at the start that we wanted our product to be the best and the most innovative solution to the challenges of manoeuvring and storing large, heavy motorcycles. We believed, and have been proven correct, that there is still a yearning for high-quality and high-performing products in this market.

The key to our product is the unique wheels which provide the obvious advantage over conventional stationary ‘paddock’ stands, but also vastly better performance, versatility, and user experience over all other motorcycle manoeuvring/storage devices, all of which use swivel casters. Compared to conventional swivel casters (which have virtually ‘nil’ cost), our wheels are highly engineered, manufactured with complex multi-stage processes, using high performance materials. Put simply, high quality in design and manufacture costs money. But they perform at a very high level, are maintenance free, and last a very long time.

The gauges and grades of material we use are far heavier than ‘similar looking’ products, but this was done for a reason – to simply make a product that lasts, has no ‘flex’ so the customer feels safe and enjoys using it. Forever.

Our product is a number of steps forward along the innovation path from where other motorcycle ‘stands’ have stood still for decades. In the realm of vehicle manoeuvring and storing, the Front Stand is gob-smackingly simple, but simply unique. The ability to move the front of the bike independent of the rear with two compact and separate devices was a game changer.

Ours is the only stand on the market that has a feature to help prevent the inadvertent unloading of the bike from the dolly. The Double-sided Rear stand has the option of using the ‘Closed Loop’ outrigger to make the act of engaging the stand with the bike a lot easier and safer.

So, what’s with those funny wheels?

Revolutionary omni-directional wheels - DESIGNED and MADE in Australia and PROVEN over years in demanding industrial applications. Under every Dynamoto stand sit Rotacaster Omni-directional wheels. Tough and durable, these unique wheels are designed for the most demanding industrial applications.

* ENGINEERED COMPOSITE CONSTRUCTION is robust but polyurethane rollers are still gentle on floor surfaces.

* Omni-directional wheels with a FIXED AXIS are not deflected by expansion joints, cracks, or tile grout lines.

* Omni-directional wheels with a fixed axis allow the load to be SAFELY levered or pivoted off the wheel WITHOUT AN UNEXPECTED LOAD SHIFT.

* Omni-directional wheels with a fixed orientation CANNOT MISALIGN and provide INSTANTANEOUS TRACKING in any horizontal direction from a stand-still or when moving.

* WIDE wheels bridge expansion joints.

* LARGE DIAMETER wheels mean little effort to move the load
